I don't know why it works that way, But If I shut down, and power up again, same garbled graphics show up, this is really annoying, to make my laptop work, I need to turn it on and off 2 times.

The only combination that allowed me to turn on my macbook pro is command + r, after progress circle turns for a bit, screen becomes blue, despite all the fans working really heavily, if I wait for a minute and turn off the machine by using power button and turn on again, mac starts without a problem, I don't see any garbled graphics whatsoever. Then I had to turn off using the power button. I tried to reboot in recovery mode, progress circle kept turning, then screen became blue, fans started to work really loudly.

I tried command + option + r + p trick, it didn't help, I had bootcamp installed, I tried pressing option after chime and starting windows 7, it didn't help either. I waited to see what was going to happen, after reaching the half of the progress bar, screen went grey and in 10 seconds, mac rebooted itself and same events took place over and over. Today my Mac shut down all of a sudden, and when I tried to reboot it, it displayed garbled graphics with weird colors and progress bar and apple logo was all garbled. Just FYI.Hi everyone, I have an early 2011 mac book pro and I upgraded it to OS X Yosemite 5 days ago, first few days was problemless, but I experienced lots of problems starting from today. And, while it looks to me like a database problem, I have seen several people in these posts say to NOT rebuild an Exchange database in Outlook). I have not tried that, as all of my accounts are Exchange-based. So, this means that if you have anything in your MI outside of an Exchange or IMAP account, you will lose it (or will need to try and import it from a backup

By adding my account backįrom scratch, the database could be built again under Yosemite and the fresh install of Outlook. So, it must be something with the way Outlook looks at the old main identity that is confusing it. My Main Identity back, once I quite Outlook, added the MI back, and then launched Outlook again, the main window was gone again. However, while Outlook's main screen was visible before adding I tried to just copy my main identity back after reinstalling Outlook. I will also say one thing I tried that did NOT work. Once I reinstalled Outlook and added my accounts back, all is well. I managed to pull them from my laptop when auto discovery failed, as that is my main machine and I have not upgraded it to Yosemite yet. So after you have started up into safe mode, just wait a bit, then restart. When you boot into safe mode it knows you are in trouble so it automatically tries to do some repairs for you. Make sure you know your servers before deleting and reinstalling Outlook. To start into safe mode you press power button, then after the chime hold down the shift key.

I got some random error that "Outlook 2011 requires Exchange Server 2007 SP1 Update Rollup 4 or later" So, I had to manually add my Office365 account back. FYI - I was not able to get auto discovery to work. Add your account account again from scratch. Reinstall Outlook 2011 (download from Office365 if you have it which installs the most-current update)ģ. Delete Main Identity (or just move out of your user Documents/Microsoft User Data folder)Ģ.
